Congratulations to Protection Services Engineer Danny Cody who has recently delivered a successful ‘Virtual’ FAT for the St Johns Wood Project.
Working out of Hitachi-ABB System Verification Facility in Stone, clients were able to remotely witness an SCS FAT through use of Microsoft Teams, GI74 remote desktop login and some finely positioned cameras.
Whilst Virtual FATs are likely to become the new norm, this was a first delivered by DAGEM and likely to be one of the first that National Grid and ABB UK have been involved in.
Danny was singled out for praise by both NG and Hitachi-ABB ensuring DAGEM Power continue to be at the forefront of using technology to improve commissioning processes. This St. Johns Wood FAT is now being used as the model template for all Hitachi-ABB FATs during the current COVID-19 related social distancing restrictions with many more FATs scheduled to be delivered in this manner over the next few months.
Danny handled the spotlight so well we are fortunate that Hollywood is on lockdown otherwise they may have found their next Tom Cruise…
